Pump & filter selection for the entire electroplating process (divided into plating types/liquids)

1. Conventional hardware/PCB acid plating (acid copper, semi-bright nickel, bright nickel, zinc plating, trivalent chromium)

  • Liquid: dilute sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, weakly acidic brightener, temperature ≤65℃

  • Filter barrel:FRPP one-piece molding, low cost, resistant to dilute acid and alkali

  • Matching pump: FRPP magnetic pump, seal EPDM, main shaft ceramic

  • Filtration precision: 1~5μm filter element, activated carbon can optionally absorb organic decomposition products

  • Applicable: continuous plating, PCB copper plating, terminal plating, plastic bottom nickel

2. High temperature electroless nickel plating (nickel gold, chemical nickel)

  • Liquid: organic acid + hypophosphite, temperature 75~90℃

  • Filter barrel:PVDF(PP is prone to deformation and cracking at high temperatures)

  • Matching pump: PVDF magnetic pump, seal VITON fluororubber, silicon carbide spindle wear-resistant and nickel-slag resistant

  • Model: Twin-tower filter, coarse filtration + fine filtration two-stage interception of nickel powder to prevent rapid clogging of the filter element

  • Advantages: Temperature resistance of 90°C, no metal ions precipitated, and avoid blackening and pitting of the coating

3. Hexavalent chromium plating (strongly oxidizing chromic acid)

  • Taboo: Ordinary PP is not resistant to chromic acid oxidation and will pulverize and leak.

  • Filter barrel:CPVC/PVDFSpecial chromic acid machine

  • Matching pump: PVDF magnetic pump, perfluorinated seal, to prevent chromic acid leakage from contaminating the workshop

  • Accuracy: 5~10μm, intercept chromium slag anode mud

4. Precious metal plating (gold plating, silver plating, rhodium plating, cyanide plating solution)

  • Pain point: Trace metal impurities directly cause color difference and missing plating, and the liquid medicine is expensive and needs to be recycled

  • Filter: small precision PP filter, no metal internal components to prevent precious metal adsorption loss

  • Pump: small flow and low disturbance magnetic pump to avoid pinholes caused by bubbles on the liquid surface

  • Accuracy: 0.1~1μm High-precision melt-blown filter element, matched with activated carbon filter element to remove impurities decomposed by brightener

5. Pre-treatment process (oil removal, pickling, micro-etching, activation)

  1. Oil removal alkali tank (high temperature NaOH 70~90℃)

    • Pump: PPH vertical idling pump, PP magnetic pump

    • Filter: Large flow bag filter, intercepting oil stains and iron filings

  2. Fluorine-containing activation/stainless steel etching (hydrofluoric acid)

    • MandatoryPVDF complete machine, titanium shaft, ordinary PP will be corroded and perforated by hydrofluoric acid

  3. Water washing tank circulation: small FRPP magnetic pump simple circulation filtration

6. Back-end waste gas, waste water, and dosing pumps (no filter, separate pump)

  1. Exhaust gas spray tower: high flow FRPP vertical pump circulation to neutralize alkali solution

  2. Wastewater treatment: Self-priming magnetic pump transports wastewater containing heavy metals

  3. Automatic dosing system:Metering pumpPrecisely add acid and alkali, flocculant, heavy metal capture agent

  4. Waste liquid recovery: PVDF magnetic pump pumps concentrated waste acid and waste nickel liquid
